Autonomous driving taxis have begun operating in Gangnam, Seoul, marking the first such service in Korea.

The vehicles decelerate when adjacent cars cut in and notify passengers when switching to manual driving in construction zones.

The late-night “free taxi” service operates on weekdays from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Three vehicles are being deployed on a pilot basis, with manual driving applied in narrow alleyways and school zones.
